This article features a large indoor-outdoor high-speed WiFi network upgrade at an RV park. Our network engineers designed WiFi network incorporating Starlink high-speed broadband internet as the ISP coupled with long-range wireless access points (WAPs) that our Starlink installers for RV parks installed in early July 2025 — this solution as all are, was tailored specifically for this RV Parks’ requirements.
The customer required a reliable and secure WiFi network that would span WiFi coverage throughout the enrtire park and also work within the RVs, motor homes, trailers, etc. We accomplished this – success!

Starlink is transforming internet connectivity in remote business locations across the U.S., including RV Parks and RV Resorts by delivering reliable, high-speed satellite internet where traditional broadband often fails. Here’s how it benefits your business:
✅ Benefit 1: High-Speed Internet in Hard-to-Reach Areas
Starlink brings broadband-level speeds (50-250 Mbps or above) to remote or rural regions where fiber, cable, or DSL options are limited or non-existent. This is a game-changer for RV park operators who want to offer seamless internet access to guests.
✅ Benefit 2: Boost Guest Satisfaction & Competitive Edge
Reliable WiFi is now an essential amenity for travellers and digital nomads. With Starlink, you can offer fast, stable internet for streaming, video calls, and work-from-RV setups—helping your park stand out from the competition and attract repeat visitors
✅ Benefit 3: Uptime You Can Count On
With Starlink’s consistent and high-uptime internet, it avoids service outages that disrupt your business. Starlink’s dependable connectivity supports uninterrupted operations and a superior guest experience.
To demonstrate the real-world application of Starlink business installation we’ll share a recent installation for an RV Park in Cameron Parish, LA.
Our Starlink SMEs performed offsite assessment. With complexity of the service request, our expert Starlink installers performed an onsite survey. This is to determine the site layout, optimal installation points, obstructions, mounting solutions, efficient cable path and power source. We were able to assess the needed parts / materials and manpower for an efficient installation. Based on the assessment, here are the summary of findings:
– Location: Cameron, LA
– Property Type: RV Park
– Lot Size: 550 feet long and 120 feet wide
– Office/Other Building Structures: none on premises
– Capacity: 24 RV slots (30 capacity)
– Requirement: WiFi connectivity throughout the RV Park
– Starlink Kit: Starlink Performance (Gen3)
– Mounting Solution: five 15ft and one 20ft Pole Mounts
– Network Setup: MDF setup in climate-controlled trailer.
– WAP Installation: 6 Poles, 6 WAPs installation
ProSat Networks’ IT network engineers designed a custom network solution to deliver high-speed broadband internet through Starlink satellite, strategically expanding WiFi coverage across the entire park.
2. Professional Onsite Starlink for RV Parks Installation
The Starlink installation project tasks were classified into three main phases:
Now, the trailer serves as the central hub for managing the entire internet infrastructure of the RV park.
To ensure a clean, weather-protected, and efficient setup, two low-voltage data cables—Starlink proprietary cable and Cat6 Ethernet cable were routed from the Main Distribution Frame (MDF) to the primary outdoor mounting pole near parking slot (n). The Starlink cable provides a dedicated connection to the Performance dish for high-speed satellite internet reception. Meanwhile, the Cat6 Ethernet cable powers and connects the primary wireless access point (WAP) via Power over Ethernet (PoE), enabling strong and reliable WiFi signal distribution across the area.
For this 8-foot cable run, a small trench was dug, and the cables were neatly encased in PVC conduit to protect them from environmental exposure and physical damage. This careful routing and protection ensure long-term durability and consistent network performance. Electrical lines were also installed through a separate conduit, completing the infrastructure needed to support both the data and power requirements of the system.
To achieve the necessary elevation and ensure a clear line-of-sight above RV rooftops, a series of threaded metal poles were assembled. The standard height for the wireless access point (WAP) poles was approximately 15 feet. However, for the primary mounting pole, an additional extension was added to support the Starlink Performance Gen3 dish, bringing its total height to around 20 feet. All poles were securely mounted to nearby wooden utility posts using heavy-duty zip ties and metal brackets. Where needed, concrete bases were added to provide extra stability against wind and environmental factors.
The main WAP was installed on the extended 20-foot pole situated next to the RV that houses the Main Distribution Frame (MDF). This pole, anchored to an existing wooden post near an electrical outlet, supports both the Starlink dish and the primary wireless access point. As the central access and distribution point for the RV park’s WiFi network, it plays a crucial role in delivering reliable, high-speed internet coverage throughout the property.
A total of six (6) pole-mounted wireless access points (WAPs) were deployed throughout the RV park to establish a strong and reliable WiFi network. Five (5) of these WAPs were strategically positioned in key areas around the property to complement the primary WAP and ensure seamless, park-wide wireless coverage. Their placement was carefully planned to eliminate dead zones and provide consistent internet access to guests regardless of their location within the park.
Following the Starlink and Mesh WiFi system installation, our team performed Starlink alignment test to ensure the satellite dish is properly positioned for optimal connectivity.
Several speed tests were performed to evaluate actual internet performance both on laptop and mobile devices. It measures the download speed, upload speed, and latency (ping). These tests were essential to confirm whether the dish placement, alignment, and overall network configuration were optimized for the best possible results.
An excellent speed results were achieved:
The successful Starlink for RV Parks installation Cameron, Louisiana demonstrates how remote hospitality businesses can harness Starlink satellite technology to transform their connectivity. The speed test results showing impressive download, upload, and latency performance, confirms that Starlink is a viable and effective solution for RV parks and resorts in hard-to-reach areas.
By delivering high-speed internet where traditional infrastructure falls short, Starlink empowers RV park operators to offer a modern, connected experience that today’s travellers expect. This reliable service enhances guest satisfaction, supports remote work and digital lifestyles, and gives operators a competitive edge in an increasingly connected world.
Most importantly, with Starlink’s consistent uptime and performance, park owners can count on stable operations and uninterrupted service proving that satellite internet is not just an alternative, but a strategic upgrade for remote businesses.
