Our Starlink installation subject matter experts received a service request from a homeowner in North Las Vegas, NV, seeking professional assistance with a Starlink Standard installation.
To initiate the process, our team conducted an Initial Offsite Assessment. This step included analyzing satellite imagery, reviewing on-site photos, and evaluating the type of roof and any potential obstructions. This crucial assessment helped us determine the materials, equipment, and manpower required for a smooth installation.

The SOW (scope of work):
- Install the Starlink Standard kit using standard wall mount
- Route the cable from Starlink dish to indoor Gen3 WiFi mesh router
- Activate & configure the Starlink Gen3 WiFi mesh router.
- Guide the customer on how to use the Starlink App
- Test and document the installations with photos
Our Starlink installation team arrived on schedule and conducted a Starlink Obstructions Test using the Starlink App. This crucial step helped determine the optimal placement for the dish, ensuring a strong and reliable connection to the Starlink satellite network. The test yielded a “Good Experience” rating, confirming that the selected location was well-suited for smooth streaming, browsing, video calls, and gaming.
We securely mounted the Starlink Standard Dish using a standard wall mount for maximum stability and signal reception.
We utilized a cable routing kit to ensure a clean, weather-resistant installation for proper sealing and cable management. The proprietary Starlink cable was neatly routed from the outdoor dish to the indoor Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router, positioned in a customer-approved location to optimize WiFi coverage and signal strength throughout the home.
Using the Starlink App, we customized the Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router by setting up the customer’s preferred network name (SSID) and password, ensuring a seamless connection. Finally, we provided the customer with a walkthrough of the Starlink App’s key features, including:
- Access and manage their SSID
- Reset their password
- Run speed tests
- Refresh or reset the Starlink network
- Troubleshoot common connectivity issues
Starlink Alignment & Performance Testing in North Las Vegas, NV
Next, our team performed a Starlink Alignment Test to ensure the dish was optimally positioned for uninterrupted satellite connectivity. This process involved precisely evaluating the dish’s alignment and placement, considering factors such as elevation angle, azimuth direction, and potential obstructions like trees, buildings, or other structures.
Using the Starlink app’s built-in alignment tool, our technicians verified that the dish had a clear, unobstructed view of the sky, which is crucial for maintaining a stable connection and minimizing service interruptions. Adjustments were made to optimize signal reception, reduce latency, and enhance overall network performance.
Finally, a Starlink Speed Test was conducted after installation to evaluate the system’s internet performance. The Advanced Speed Test results from your Starlink system indicate strong overall performance. The device-to-router speed shows 723 Mbps download and 529 Mbps upload, meaning your internal WiFi network functions efficiently. This ensures good connectivity between your devices and the router, reducing lag for local network activities. For router-to-internet performance, the Starlink download speed is 380 Mbps and the upload speed is 27 Mbps.
It is worth noting that Starlink may take up to 12 hours to fully synchronize, during which the system optimizes its connection by aligning with the satellite network. This synchronization period ensures peak performance, providing consistent and reliable internet service for the customer’s needs.
