The SOW (scope of work):
- Dish / Antenna Installation: Install the Starlink Enterprise dish using the non-penetrating roof mount
- Cable Routing: Run the Starlink cable from the dish to the existing network (MDF)
- Cutover: Disconnect the current ISP and connect and activate Starlink Enterprise as the primary internet source. Ensure the client’s firewall correctly recognizes, routes, and filters traffic from the new Starlink WAN interface.
- Starlink Tests: Test Starlink alignment and connectivity performance
- Installation Photos: Document the installations with photos and close-out notes.
We performed the Starlink Obstructions Test at the predetermined location to verify a “Good experience” rating, signifying clear of sight that would give a stable satellite connection.
The Starlink dish is securely installed on a rooftop using a non-penetrating roof mount, ensuring no damage to the roof structure. The mount features a sturdy base with sandbags for added stability, preventing it from being displaced by wind or other environmental factors.
The Starlink cable was routed from the dish down to a metallic vertical pipe mounted on the ceiling/roof, likely a conduit for wires or ventilation. The pipe extends from the ceiling down. A bundle of cables is neatly coiled and secured against the wall near the bottom of the pipe, demonstrating thoughtful organization to prevent tangling or damage. The wires are fastened along the wall with clips or ties, indicating a tidy arrangement suitable for networking or electrical installations.
The Starlink cable was then connected to the existing network (MDF). Execute the cutover, connecting and activating Starlink as the primary internet source. Ensuring all traffic (or configured traffic) flows through the new Starlink connection and the client’s firewall correctly recognizes, routes, and filters traffic from the new Starlink WAN interface.
Starlink Alignment & Performance Testing in Aberdeen, ID
