We performed a preliminary offsite assessment to determine the location suitable for Starlink installation. This involved analyzing satellite imagery, reviewing onsite photos, evaluating the roof type, and identifying potential obstructions that could affect connectivity. From this evaluation, we established the necessary materials, equipment, mounting solutions, and manpower needed to ensure a smooth and efficient installation process.

- Starlink Model: The customer has the Starlink Standard Kit
- Mount Option: The customer has standard wall mount
- Starlink will be connected to the existing network located in the basement.
Starlink Installation in Colorado Springs, CO
The SOW (scope of work):
- Install Starlink Standard Kit using standard wall mount attached to custom pole mount
- Cable management for existing wiring in-place to comply HOA standards.
- Cable routing to the existing network in the basement
- Activate & configure the Starlink Gen3 WiFi mesh router and place them on customer approved location with optimal coverage across the home.
- Guide the customer on how to use the Starlink App.
- Test and document the installations with photos.
The Starlink installer arrived on time and began the installation process by conducting a Starlink Obstructions Test using the Starlink App. This crucial step helps assess the surrounding environment for potential obstacles, such as trees, buildings, or other structures, that might interfere with the satellite’s line of sight to the sky. The app uses the device’s camera to scan the installation site, providing real-time visualization of any obstructions that could affect signal quality.
The Starlink dish is installed on the roof eaves using a custom pole and standard wall mount. Using the lift, our team could mount the dish in an elevated position, which ensured an unobstructed sky view for optimal satellite connectivity. The installation was secured, and the location helped minimize potential obstructions from trees or nearby buildings.

Utilizing a cable routing kit, we routed the Starlink cable from the dish to the existing network in the basement. We also took extra care to manage and organize the existing wiring, adhering to HOA standards for a clean, compliant, and visually unobtrusive installation.
Using the Starlink App, we customized the Gen3 WiFi Mesh Router, setting up the customer’s preferred network name (SSID) and password for a seamless connection. Additionally, we positioned two Gen3 mesh routers in optimal locations based on the customer’s preference to enhance coverage throughout the home.
To enhance user experience, we guided the customer through the key features of the Starlink App, including:
- Managing their SSID
- Resetting their WiFi password
- Running speed tests
- Refreshing or resetting the Starlink network
- Troubleshooting common connectivity issues
Starlink Alignment & Performance Testing in Colorado Springs, CO
Our Starlink technician utilized the Starlink alignment test within the Starlink app to verify that the dish had a clear, unobstructed view of the sky, a critical factor for maintaining a stable connection with minimal service interruptions. Adjustments were made to enhance signal reception, reduce latency, and optimize overall network performance for a seamless internet experience.
The advanced Starlink Speed Test assessed the system’s internet performance. This speed test shows strong network performance. The device-to-router connection delivers excellent speeds, with 592 Mbps download and 164 Mbps upload, indicating a well-optimized local network. The router-to-internet speed via Starlink is 257 Mbps download and 28 Mbps upload, providing fast internet for streaming, gaming, and remote work.
It is important to note that Starlink may take up to 12 hours to synchronize fully, scanning the sky, connecting to satellites, and adjusting for optimal signal. Users may experience temporary speed fluctuations or brief dropouts during this process. Once complete, the connection stabilizes, ensuring reliable high-speed internet.
