To kick off the service request, our team performed an Initial Offsite Assessment to assess the installation’s feasibility. After the initial offsite assessment, we received the customer’s approval on the job order and arranged the installation schedule with our Starlink installers in DeWitt, MI.

The SOW (scope of work):
- Install a Starlink standard kit using standard wall mount in the location with “good experience” connectivity and approved by the customer.
- Use a drip loop cable installation setup from dish to indoor Starlink WiFi mesh router using cable routing kit
- Activate & set up the Starlink Gen3 WiFi mesh router
- Orient the customer on how to use the Starlink App
- Test and document the installations with photos
Our Starlink installation team arrived on schedule and began the process with the Starlink Obstructions Test, utilizing the Starlink App. This essential step helps determine the most suitable location for the Starlink dish by assessing the area for potential obstructions, such as trees, buildings, or other structures that could disrupt the line of sight to the Starlink satellite network.
The test results indicated a “Good Experience” rating, confirming that the chosen location is ideal for establishing a strong and reliable connection. This ensures high-quality streaming, smooth browsing, uninterrupted video calls, and lag-free gaming. The team then securely mounted the Starlink dish using a standard wall mount.
Next, we utilized the Cable Routing Kit to securely lay the route of the Proprietary Starlink Cable from the outdoor dish to the indoor Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Routers. The final indoor connection was strategically placed in a customer-approved location to optimize WiFi coverage and ensure a reliable, high-speed internet experience throughout the home.
We then set up the Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router using the Starlink app, facilitating integration into the Starlink network. During the setup process, we customized the router with the customer’s preferred network name (SSID) and password, personalizing the system for easy identification and enhanced security.
We provided the customer with a walkthrough of the key features of the Starlink app. Users can easily access their network’s SSID and view connected devices, allowing them to manage their connections effectively. The app enables them to reset or update their network password for enhanced security.
Next, our team conducted the Starlink Alignment Test, a crucial step to ensure the dish was accurately positioned for optimal satellite connectivity. Using the advanced tools on the Starlink app allowed us to fine-tune the dish’s orientation, ensuring it was pointed in the ideal direction to capture the strongest signal possible.
Finally, our team conducted Starlink Speed Tests after completing the installation to evaluate the quality and reliability of the internet connection. These tests assessed crucial metrics such as download and upload speeds, latency, and overall network stability. This immediate post-installation assessment offered valuable insights into the system’s initial performance, confirming that it was operating as intended.
This speed test result shows excellent performance. Starlink is a great solution for users in rural or underserved locations.
It’s important to note that Starlink systems generally require up to 12 hours to synchronize with the satellite network for optimal performance. During this synchronization period, users may experience fluctuations in speed and connectivity as the system calibrates to reach peak functionality.
