The SOW (scope of work):
- Remove the existing satellite dish
- Install Starlink Standard Kit using Pivot mount
- Find the best cable path from Starlink dish to the indoor Gen3 WiFi Mesh Router location
- Activate and configure Gen3 WiFI Mesh Routers
- Guide the customer on how to use the Starlink App.
- Test and document the installations with photos.
The Starlink installer arrived onsite and began the dish installation at the confirmed location with a “Good experience” rating from the Starlink Obstructions Test.
The Starlink dish was securely installed using a Pivot Mount, a mounting solution designed for sloped or metal roofs. This mount enables precise angle adjustments, ensuring the dish maintains an optimal line of sight to the sky for uninterrupted satellite connectivity. The Pivot Mount was firmly attached to the roof structure, providing stability even in strong winds or adverse weather conditions. Proper sealing techniques were applied to prevent water ingress, ensuring long-term durability and performance.
Using a cable routing kit, the cable was routed along the roof panels to the walls and guided neatly to prevent any unnecessary exposure to wind or potential damage. Weatherproof clips and fasteners kept the cable in place, ensuring a clean and organized installation. It was then passed through a designated entry point on the wall, sealed with a grommet to prevent water ingress and maintain a professional finish.
Inside, the cable was routed discreetly along the interior wall, leading to the Gen3 WiFI Mesh Router’s location for maximum coverage across the home.
The Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router was successfully activated by connecting with the Starlink terminal and confirming that all components were installed correctly. Once the power cable was plugged in, the system was initialized to establish a stable link with the satellite network. Using the Starlink app, we monitored the connection status, checked for firmware updates, and fine-tuned the network settings for optimal performance. We customized the WiFi network name (SSID) and password to enhance security and usability, ensuring a personalized and protected internet experience.
To enhance user experience, we guided the customer through the key features of the Starlink App, including:
- Resetting their WiFi password
- Running speed tests
- Refreshing or resetting the Starlink network
- Troubleshooting common connectivity issues
Starlink Alignment & Performance Testing in Keswick, VA
Our Starlink installers conducted the alignment test using the Starlink app to confirm that the dish had a clear, unobstructed view of the sky, which is essential for ensuring a stable connection with minimal disruptions.
After installing the Starlink satellite internet system, Starlink speed tests were conducted to evaluate the internet connection’s performance. These tests aimed to measure several key metrics, including download and upload speeds and latency. The speed test results indicate that the Starlink system performs well.
