We assisted the customer in determining how we were going to tie into his existing network and attached devices such as his camera system, security system, TVs, etc.. We ensured we would have all the required parts and materials. Then, we coordinated the Starlink installation appointment with the customer and our Starlink installers in Surf City, NC.

The SOW (scope of work):
- Install a Starlink Standard Kit using pivot mount
- Identify the path for the proprietary Starlink cable and utilize a masonry cable routing kit to replace existing grommets or cable pass-through points. Secure the installation by sealing the openings with quick-dry sealant.
- Activate & set up Starlink Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router
- Orient the customer on how to use the Starlink App
- Test and document the installations with photos
The professional Starlink installation team arrived on schedule and started by performing the Starlink Obstructions Test using the Starlink App. This test is crucial for identifying the best location for the dish to ensure a strong and reliable signal from the Starlink satellite network.
The Obstructions Test indicated a “Good experience” for streaming, browsing, video calls, and gaming, suggesting that the location is ideal for the Starlink dish installation. Following this, our team securely mounted the Starlink dish on the roof using the pivot mount.
The Starlink installation team utilized a masonry cable routing kit to securely route the proprietary Starlink cable from the outdoor dish to the indoor Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router. They activated and configured the Starlink Gen 3 WiFi Mesh Router using the Starlink app.
Next, our team conducted the Starlink Alignment Test to ensure the dish was accurately positioned for optimal satellite connectivity. This involved verifying the dish’s orientation and placement to guarantee a clear sky view and maximize signal strength. The test also identified potential obstructions, such as trees or buildings, and confirmed that the dish’s azimuth (horizontal alignment) and elevation angles were adjusted correctly.
Lastly, the team performed the Starlink Speed Test 20 minutes after installation to assess the internet connection quality. Please note that Starlink may take up to 12 hours to synchronize fully.
The performance shown in this speed test suggests that Starlink provides a reliable and good internet connection suitable for various online activities.
