We kick off an Initial Offsite Assessment to determine whether the location is suitable for Starlink installation. This involved analyzing satellite images, reviewing on-site photos, evaluating the roof type, and identifying possible obstructions. Then, we could determine the necessary parts, materials, mounting solutions, and manpower for a smooth installation.

Starlink Installation in Woodland Hills, CA
The SOW (scope of work):
- Install Starlink Standard Kit using Pivot mount
- Cable routing from Starlink dish to the indoor Gen3 WiFi Mesh Router location.
- Connect the Starlink system to a 3rd-party mesh for full home coverage.
- Activate and configure Gen3 WiFi Mesh router.
- Guide the customer on how to use the Starlink App.
- Test Starlink connectivity
- Document the installations with photos.
Our Starlink installer arrived at the site and began installing the dish at the designated location, which had been confirmed to provide a “Good experience” rating on the Starlink Obstructions Test. This rating indicated minimal signal interference, ensuring a strong and stable connection.
The Starlink dish was securely installed using a Standard Wall Mount, which provided a stable and elevated position for optimal signal reception. The mount was carefully attached to the exterior roof wall /eaves, ensuring proper alignment with the Starlink satellite network. The installer also secured all necessary cables and connections to ensure a reliable and weather-resistant setup.
Using a cable routing kit, the cable was secured along the roofline. Weatherproof clips and fasteners kept the cable in place, ensuring a clean and organized installation. It was then passed through a designated entry point sealed with caulking to prevent water ingress.
The cable was routed to the Gen3 WiFI Mesh Router’s strategic location, near the house garage, the customer’s preferred location. We activated the Gen3 WiFI Mesh router by connecting it to the Starlink terminal and ensuring all components were correctly set up.
After plugging in the power cable and allowing the system to initialize, we accessed the Starlink app to monitor the connection status and configure the network settings. We customized the WiFi network name (SSID) and password, ensuring a secure and personalized connection.
To enhance user experience, we guided the customer through the key features of the Starlink App, including:
- Resetting their WiFi password
- Running speed tests
- Refreshing or resetting the Starlink network
- Troubleshooting common connectivity issues
- Answer customer questions that come up
We integrate the Starlink system with a third-party mesh WiFi network to ensure broader coverage of internet connectivity throughout the home. This setup extends the Starlink internet signal beyond a single router, eliminating dead zones and providing consistent, high-speed coverage across multiple rooms and floors
Starlink Alignment & Performance Testing in Woodland Hills, CA
Our Starlink installers conducted the Starlink alignment test using the Starlink app to confirm that the dish had a clear, unobstructed view of the sky, an essential factor for ensuring a stable connection with minimal disruptions.
Next, Speed Tests were performed after installation to assess the system’s internet performance. The speed test indicates good performance overall. The download speed is particularly strong, making it suitable for data-intensive activities. The upload speed is good for everyday use. The ping and jitter values indicate a stable connection, which is vital for real-time applications.
