For boats, ships, freighters, steamers, merchant ships (MS), yachts, sailboats, fishing boats, houseboats, riverboats, pontoon boats, tugboats, party cruisers…and the list goes on… Starlink® LEO Satellite Broadband for Boats further bridges the digital divide by connecting high-speed, low-latency internet to maritime vessels on rivers, lakes and oceans all around the globe. It truly is amazing!
We at Pro Starlink Installers™ say: beam us up, Scotty.
Recently, we received a request for a Starlink Maritime Installation coupled with a Security Camera System Installation on a boat from a customer whose 171ft merchant ship had just experienced a tornado at sea, or waterspout, if you could image how hair-raising an event that must be. Fortunately, all survived and she was safely at anchor in Ensenada, Mexico (All Saints Bay), undergoing repairs.
They are about to embark on a trip from Ensenada to the Arabian Sea

*NOTE: PoE or power-over-ethernet means that the camera device transmits data and receives power through a low-voltage (ethernet) data cable, in this case, a Cat6 outdoor grade (copper) cable VS. a non-solar (so-called) wireless/WiFi camera system that requires a power/AC cable or batteries. This is common in camera systems, WAP’s (wireless access points), VoIP phones, etc. and eliminates the need for high-voltage electrical work.
Author’s note: We realize you may be asking how they got the cameras streaming. We were of course simultaneously installing Starlink, so we got them both up and running at the same time (same day), but have split the articles into 2, the Part2 article details the Starlink maritime installation.
