Starlink Maritime Installation Request Received:
Starlink Maritime to be installed on a 171ft former Coast Guard merchant ship (MS)
Our specialized group, with experience installing cameras, communications, security, entertainment systems, and Starlink maritime on private yachts, sailboats, freighters, commercial vessels, and merchant ships, began working with our customers to gather additional information on their requirements for their ships.
Ship Location: At anchor in All Saints Bay, Ensenada, Mexico
For ships, boats, sailboats, power boats, cruisers, yachts, freighters, steamers, merchant ships (MS), fishing boats, houseboats, riverboats, pontoon boats, tugboats, party boats…and the list goes on… Starlink® LEO Satellite Broadband for Boats continues to bridge the digital divide by connecting high-speed, low-latency LEO (low-Earth-orbit) satellite internet to maritime vessels at sea on rivers, lakes and oceans worldwide.
It is an absolutely amazing phenomenon and is now a reality.
After recently receiving a Starlink maritime installation service request coupled with a marine camera system installation on a ship that had experienced a tornado at sea or waterspout, if you could imagine how hair-raising an event that must be, fortunately, all survived, and she was safely at anchor in Ensenada, Mexico (All Saints Bay), undergoing repairs.

THE ACTUAL STARLINK MARITIME INSTALLATION
(ASSET & ID TAGS COVERED)
Days prior, we were on board to perform a site survey and determine the installation requirements, such as the Starlink dish installation mount, mounting location, Starlink cable path, and Starlink Gen3 router (and mounts) installation points.
Then, once Pro Starlink Installers‘ installation crew arrived via water taxi to the ship and unloaded our tools, parts & materials, we were ready to get to work!
First things first…
We need to get up in the crow’s nest to:
– Verify Obstructions Tests
– Check for anomalies that may have changed since the site survey
– Confirm mounting location
– Determine the Starlink cable path and
– Confirm parts/materials for install
Run Obstructions Tests from Crow’s Nest
Using the Starlink App, we then run Obstructions tests to verify the Starlink dish installation location from the crow’s nest: “Good Experience!”
Determine Starlink Cable Path on the Ship
Determine the Starlink cable path:
– on the main mast, Captain approved!
Time to get the Starlink dish mounted and run the Starlink cable
Mount that Starlink dish!!
Still running the Starlink cable…taking care with a harness.
Looking good from the deck!
Let’s get into the wheelhouse/helm of the ship
